Skin Care – Meaning behind Labels
Skin care is the process in which people do procedures or practices in applying a product onto their skin to keep it clean or healthy. Much of these skin care products come in forms of mostly cream or liquid forms. When discovering what sorts of ingredients they would use when making these products, there are certain words or symbols that would catch people attention to make them believe these sorts of products. Some of these products would have words on their labels from “No Animals Tested/ Not Tested on Animals”, “Made with Natural/Organic Ingredients” or “No Harmful Chemicals”. I wanted to focus more on the use of Organic Ingredients or look into the meaning behind and how they may be used in these skin care products. Organic Ingredients is summarized in not using pesticides, fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, or radiation practices when producing these sorts of ingredients. In doing so, they use these organic ingredients to catch people attention on how they make these sort of safe little products that could not likely cause any harm onto your skin. A commonly known organic ingredient when making these skin care products is “coconut oil” which help moisturize your skin. When looking back in 1990, an organic blueberry farmer sued the USDA for products being allowed to have synthetic ingredients be sold and that these organic products were to be only 95 percent organic and 100 percent natural to be sold under the original OPFA rule (Organic Consumer Association).
