With how I am going over my environmental issue on sea/ocean levels rising in our world and how much of a big impact it could be to our coastal cities/towns in the future, there are organizations working to bring awareness to these problems and that all the work they do are done in non-profit ways. One organization I researched that are focusing on the same situation the world is facing are named the “Cleo Institute”. The Cleo Institute was found by Caroline Lewis, a science teacher, who wanted to bring awareness and teach those of the occurring climate changes happening and bringing up helpful solutions to combat the rising sea levels. This group has worked in collaboration with Michael Landsberg, an award-winning documentary filmmaker for Earth Day and received volunteered help from children who wanted to take the time to voice out the impacts our world is receiving to get the attention from adults and help people receive the required education in knowing what actions we do can overall affect our climate and can affect our oceans and what ways we can prevent it from reverting it or temporarily slow it down to lessen the impacts on coastal areas and lose many things. When looking into their tax information, the year 2016-2018 show results of the money on taxes used with the first year estimating at $52 million and the third year at $252 million. The money donated to them are all tax deductible. (246)
